Debitsuccess staff train with The Mountain Warrior for a good cause
27 March 2012
Four staff from North Shore-based payment solutions company Debitsuccess recently trained with champion boxer, Shane Cameron, ‘The Mountain Warrior’ and raised money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation at the same time.
Debitsuccess staff, Laurene Lagan, Laura Risbrook, Karen Rodriguez and Stephen Meyer won the training session with Cameron at a company charity auction, with all proceeds going to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Ms. Lagan said Cameron’s training style really put the participants through their paces, with the hour-long session covering technique, strength and cardio elements for an exhaustive workout.
“Boxing always looks a little intimidating on TV, but it really wasn’t like that with Shane. I attend classes at Shane Cameron Fitness regularly so this was an opportunity to do something I enjoy while supporting an important cause” said Ms. Lagan.
Shane Cameron Fitness, co-owned by Cameron, prides itself as a friendly fitness centre for all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. No stranger to helping a good cause, the club has long supported the youth of the North Shore for many years.
The Debitsuccess charity auction raised over $2,000 for The Breast Cancer Foundation, and there are plans to hold a fundraising activity again in 2012.
