Debitsuccess has a unique collection process. Across a majority of industries approximately 3.5% of direct debit transactions reverse. Debitsuccess achieve an outstanding result in collecting the majority of these reversals for you, of which an average of <1% of these payments we would refer to a formal debt collection agency at your discretion, at which point your customer receives a CRA listing (Credit Reference Australia). By setting a CRA listing against the full amount owed by the customer, this not only secures their financial commitment to you, but there is a greater incentive for them to pay the full amount owing in order to clear their name.

Debitsuccess achieves a low level of bad debt through its reversal follow up process.

  • By direct debiting every working day and aligning the direct debit date to the customer’s pay date and frequency.
  • Your customer receives a phone call from Debitsuccess within 24 hours of any payment reversal to secure immediate payment.
  • A letter (and email if the address has been supplied) is also sent at this time to advise in writing how much money is owing and also to outline appropriate methods to arrange a catch up of this payment.
  • The collection process is attempted three consecutive times after which if your customer has failed to arrange payment of the outstanding amount they may be referred to a Debt Collection agency at their expense to satisfy their debt to you.
This process is aimed at maximising retention by maintaining contact with customers who are experiencing difficulty in paying and working through this situation with them to find a satisfactory result for both them and your business.

At all times the customer is yours and Debitsuccess follow your instructions. At any time you can override or change these instructions universally or as they relate to a specific customer. All correspondence with your customer is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our online access.
